SRINAGAR: Security forces launched a massive search operation in north Kashmir district of Bandipora on Friday, official sources said.
They said on a tip-off about the presence of militants, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in some areas in Hajin of Bandipora.
Security forces, braving chilly weather, sealed all exit points and a search operation has been launched.
Two militants and two commandos of Air Force were killed in an encounter in Hajin on October 11 while ultras managed to escape after a brief encounter on October 29. There are intelligence reports that a group of militants, particularly foreigners, are frequently visiting and hiding in Hajin and other areas in the district.
