JAMMU, Oct 4: State Government Employees Joint Action Committee, which is the amalgam of representatives of employees bodies from Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu has announced State wide protest programme on October 13.
Addressing a joint press conference here today senior members of the committee, Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Aijaz Khan, Subash Verma, Zaffar Ullah and others strongly criticized the Government for its failure to honour its commitment made with the employees representatives. They pointed out that SGEJAC has taken strong exception to the criminal silence maintained by the Government over the agreed upon genuine demands of the employees.
While the employees are on war path in support of their demands like payment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, regularization of daily wagers in Government Departments and PSUs, removal of pay anomalies of clerical and some other cadre, framing of clear policy of ReTs, Evs and ReZs, Anagwanwadi and Asha workers, the Government is only buying time and doling out false promises and cunningly making all out efforts to create division among the employees bodies. They cautioned the employees to remain vigilant from the designs of opportunist trade union leaders playing in the hands of Government.
In view of the raising prices of fuel (diesel/ LPG etc) and its impact on all other sectors, the trade union leaders demanded release of 7 % DA installment. They demanded that 12 LPG cylinders be provided in subsidized rates in J&K and framing of friendly Medi-claim policy for the employees. It was also announced that on October 13 massive protest demonstration will be held in Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir region in support of employees demands.
