JAMMU, July 31: The State Government today announced elections for State Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Board and Jammu and Kashmir divisions on September 13.
A notification to this effect was issued by Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Dr Arun Kumar.
Dr Kumar has appointed the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir as Returning Officers for the elections in their respective divisions.
The names of voter list i.e. elected members of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees will be published on August 5 followed by issuance of election notification on August 7. The candidates can file nomination papers till August 11 while scrutiny of nominations will take place on August 18. Last date for appeal against rejection of nomination papers has been fixed as August 24. The candidates can withdraw the nomination papers on August 26.
The list of contesting candidates will be published on August 27 while notice for fixing the date for holding the meeting of the members of the District Committees will be issued on August 28. Election for members for the Boards will be held on September 13. The results will also be declared on the same day.
