Shabir calls on Union Health Minister

JAMMU, Feb 11: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmed Khan, yesterday evening called on Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad at New Delhi.
The Minister apprised Union Health Minister about physical and financial achievements registered under health sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Shabir also briefed the Union Health Minister about the implementation of various components of NRHM in the State. He informed that several hospital complexes, besides other related health infrastructure was apace in the State under NRHM and would be completed in stipulated time frame.
The State Health Minister urged for release of additional funds under NRHM. He said that 90% funds released so far by the Union Health Ministry to the State under NRHM have been utilized in full for creation and upgradation of health infrastructure in the State. He said there is dire need for release of additional funds to the State under NRHM for carrying out the construction works of ongoing projects, besides purchase of health equipments for hospitals.
The Union Health Minister said that Centre would provide all possible financial assistance under NRHM to the State for upgradation and improvement of health sector.
