RAJOURI, Dec 29: Minister of State for Power, Forest, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan today inspected model village Shadara Sharief being developed at a cost of Rs 4.52 crore. He also inspected budgeted accommodation being constructed at Zairat Shadera Sharief at a cost of Rs 5 crore for convenience of pilgrims.
The Minister was apprised that so far Rs 1.75 crore was expended on construction of several components of the model village, while as Rs 1.82 crore has been incurred so far on the work on budgeted accommodation for pilgrims. He was assured by the concerned executing agency that construction work on these projects would be completed within stipulated time frame.
The Minister also visited the site identified for construction of steel bridge to connect TRC with Zairat Sharief. He directed concerned Engineers for taking up the work at the earliest. He was apprised that tenders for the purpose have been already floated and are at award stage.
The Minister also reviewed the physical and financial status of several tourism projects being executed in the area for visiting tourists. He directed concerned authorities to redouble their efforts and accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing projects for their timely completion. He also stressed on the concerned that the under execution TRCs at Dhara Ki Gali, Barrot, Manjakote and hanging garden at Rajouri should be completed in time keeping in view the visitors and tourists coming via Mugal road.
Later, the Minister addressed a public meeting at Shadara Sharief. He said to improve electricity facility in the area 6 new transformers would be installed in the area. He assured that all genuine demands and developmental needs would be redressed in due course.
