RAJOURI, Dec 30: Minister of State for Power, Forest, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan today kick started the construction work on 8 Kms Neli -Hayatpora road.
The work on this road project has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 4.30 crore under PMGSY. The construction work of this road would be completed within 12 months and after its completion it would provide better connectivity to over 4000 population of the area.
Addressing to a public meeting on the occasion, the Minister said that better road connectivity plays vital role for socio-economic upliftment of a society. He said the Government has initiated a massive road developmental programme with the assistance of Central Government across the State, with special focus on up gradation of roads in remote and hilly areas.
The Minister said that Government was abreast of the people’s problems and developmental needs. He said that during last 4 years of the Government several people friendly steps have been taken to improve basic facilities in the State.
The Minister said that crores of rupees are being invested on upgradation of core sectors in Rajouri district, adding that alone Rs 79 crore is being expended on the construction and upgradation of power infrastructure in the area with the special thrust to remote and border villages.
The Minister assured the people that all their genuine day to day problems and developmental needs would be fulfilled in due course of time.
