Shabir lays foundation of Panchayat Ghar

JAMMU, Apr 19: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today laid foundation of Panchayat Ghar, Dehri-Ralyote in Rajouri.
The construction of Panchayat Ghar would be completed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh during current financial year and after completion it would provide better accommodation facility to Panches and Sarpanches of the area for undertaking day to day public interest dealings.
Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation of Panchayat Ghar, the Minister said the initiatives taken by the Government during the past four years towards bringing accountability and transparency in the administration is worth appreciating.
He said holding of Panchayat elections, enactment of Right to Information Act and Public Service Guarantee Act are the landmark steps taken by the Government in improving governance structure in the State.  Reiterating the commitment of the Government to ensure holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on border and hilly areas, the Minister said the Government’s pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have taken the State on the track of peace and prosperity. He affirmed that this tempo would be carried onward with a mission to ensure all-round development of rural as well as border people.
Referring to the development of block Manjakot, the Minister said that Rs.4 crore is being expended for upgradation of basic facilities in the block during current year under MGNERAGA. He said under BADP Rs 1.02 crore would be spent on various developmental works in the area. He said construction work on water supply scheme Dehri-Ralyote would be taken up soon to meet the water scarcity problem in the area. He said due consideration would be given to upgrade the health care facility in the area.
Interacting with several deputations during his tour to Manjakot Block, the Minister reaffirmed that being the local representative equal development of all the areas of the district was his priority and no injustice would be done to any area of the district on the developmental front. He assured the people that all their genuine developmental needs would be carry out in a phased manner. He also impressed upon the officers to solve the people’s genuine.
