AYODHYA, Dec 31:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh over construction of the grand Ram Temple and accused them of creating hindrances in the process.
“Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) during its regime made lots of efforts to stop construction of the ‘Ram Mandir’. They unleashed batons on disciples of ram,” Shah said, while addressing a mammoth gathering here.
In an apparent attack on former Chief Ministers — Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, the senior BJP leader said,”There were no respect for symbols of ‘faith’ during the ‘Bua-Babua’s tenure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are working to give glory to every pilgrimage sites.”
BJP government brought back ancient glory of Ayodhya, he said, adding that the ruling dispensation is working to make UP No.1 state in the country.
“Can ‘Bua-Babua’ and Congress take the state forward ? They will never let UP progress,” Shah said, as he appealed the gathering to once again repose their faith on BJP by voting them to power in the upcoming assembly elections with a thumping majority.
Attacking the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party, the Home Minister said, “During SP’s there used to be three ‘Ps’ – Pariwarbad (nepotism), Pakshpat ( biasness) and Palayan (exodus), while BJP follows three ‘Vs’- Vikas (development), Vyapar (business) and Sanskritik Virasat (cultural heritage).”
On law and order, Shah said, “Now, mafias are surrendering before the police.”
Assembly elections to the state along with Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur are slated to be held early next year. (UNI)
