Shah to visit BOP Vinay on IB in Kathua, meet JKP martyrs

JAMMU, Apr 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach here tomorrow evening on a three days visit of Jammu and Kashmir to review security situation and development works, meet BJP MLAs and tour the International Border (IB).

Sources told the Excelsior that Shah will reach here around 6 pm tomorrow from Jaipur, Rajasthan where he is scheduled to attend a religious gathering.
Shah will fly to Jaipur from Chhattisgarh where he attended various programmes today.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh, who was in Telangana today, will reach here tomorrow afternoon from New Delhi.
Shah will have hectic schedule in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
He will reach Raj Bhawan on his arrival from Jaipur tomorrow and visit the BJP headquarters at Trikuta Nagar to meet the party MLAs at 8 pm. Dr Jitendra Singh will also attend the meeting.
On April 7, he will visit the BSF Border Out Post Vinay in Kathua at 10.30 am and assess the ground situation there.
He will meet the family members of the martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Raj Bhavan in Jammu at 2 pm on April 7 and also present appointment letters to some of them selected on compassionate grounds.
On April 8, Shah will first take stock of various development programmes in the Union Territory at a meeting to be held at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar at 11 am.
Subsequently, he will attend another meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar at 1 pm where the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir will be reviewed.
He will return to New Delhi in the afternoon of April 8 from Srinagar.
Shah will review security situation in Jammu and Kashmir with special reference to the Jammu region where infiltration attempts and movement of terrorists in upper reaches of Kathua, Udhampur and other districts has become a cause of concern.
“The meeting is expected to draw strategy for ensuring zero infiltration and elimination of terrorists from the mountains and forests of the Jammu region besides the Kashmir valley,” the sources said.
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, MHA officials dealing with Jammu and Kashmir, Heads of Intelligence agencies and paramilitary forces from New Delhi will also join Amit Shah in security review meeting, the sources said.
