SRINAGAR, Aug 30: National Conference leader from Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and apprised him about the day to day problems of the people and other development related activities taken up in Tehsil Banihal.
He said that some remote and far flung areas were still without basic facilities like drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, proper health care and education related infrastructure.
Shaheen strongly demanded opening of a degree college at Ukharhal as the area is socially and educationally very backward. Other demands included Sub-District status to Banihal, Tehsil status for Ramsoo, Up-gradation of Ramsoo, Khari and Ukharhal hospitals, special police recruitment in the Tehsil, setting up of Wind Mills, besides providing basic facilities in all remote and far flung areas.
Shaheen also thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for sanctioning Mini-Hydel projects, besides providing Solar Home lights to 4700 household of remote areas of Tehsil Banihal.
