SRINAGAR, Jan 7: J&K Janta Dal United (JDU) president, G.M Shaheen has expressed concern over the hardships confronting Kashmir people due to fresh snowfall.
In a handout Shaheen demanded that electricity and road clearance especially in Baramulla, Kreri, Wagoora, Tangmarg, Uri, Bandipora and elsewhere in Kashmir should be ensured on war footing base.
He also said that fresh snowfall in Kashmir and elsewhere has disconnected the people from district headquarters especially those living in far off places in North Kashmir,
The JDU leader claimed that though various agencies and Municipal Committees have started their work early yet the Government is required to speed up the work and gear up agencies especially those managing electricity, road clearance, supply of essentials and medical facilities in order to ensure respite to the people.
“I was appraised by various people about the situation and difficulties confronting them due to fresh snowfall,” Shaheen said.
