BANIHAL, June 14: National Conference leader Meer Sajjad Shaheen today said, “youth have to play a key role in bringing about a change that will usher in an era of political accountability and performance audit of those who are promoting corruption and nepotism and have exploited all sections of society during the last five and a half years in Banihal tehsil.”
This was stated by Shaheen while addressing a meeting of the youth wing of the National Conference in Panchayat Krawa. He said people of Banihal constituency are passing through a crucial stage, where each and every section of society had to play its role in ensuring a better future for the coming generation. “Women and youth in particular have to come forward and lead the area into the new era of prosperity,” he added.
He said, “That Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has in a short span of time established that he has vision and policies for all sections of society. Youth and Women empowerment has remained the prime focus of his Government. Historical measures like SKEWP, UDDAN, HIMAYAT and many other initiatives taken by the present Government lead by  Omar Abdullah  in empowering and educating youth speaks a lot about it.”
He asked the youth party leaders and workers to reach out to the people and propagate programmes and policies of the party in order to garner support and strengthen the party and the hands of Omar Abdullah.
