Shaheen urges Admn to ensure basic facilities in remote areas

BANIHAL, Nov 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and District president Ramban, Mir Sajjad Shaheen conducted two days extensive tour to Sarachi, Bajmasta and Sumar, the remote villages in Banihal constituency.
During his visit to these villages the locals apprised him about erratic power supply, scarcity of drinking water, shortage of staff in educational institutions and health care centers besides dilapidated  condition of roads in their villages. People also demanded construction of health centre buildings at Sarachi, Tanka and Sumar; 250 KVA transformer at Sarachi besides removing the bottle necks which has caused delay in the construction of Sarachi road as the village lacks road connectivity causing immense suffering to the local villagers particularly patients and school going children.
Shaheen said that Khari -Mahu road, Banihal -Mangit road and Digdol-Bajmasta-Sumar  road are in a bad shape and need improvement and upgradation as the dilapidated roads have added to the miseries of the people.
He also expressed deep concern over the power crisis in Banihal, Gook and it’s peripheral areas and said that unscheduled power cuts have aggravated woes of people in the entire district particularly in remote and far-flung villages.  He said that the unscheduled and frequent power cuts continue unabated and people are facing massive inconvenience due to power cuts.
He urged the Administration to take immediate cognizance of these issues for the large number of people living in far-flung villages. He urged the UT administration to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities and ensure ration, cooking gas and kerosene oil in all remote villages of district Ramban and Gool Sub Division.
He was accompanied by the party Zonal vice president Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Youth  Proviencial vice president Tariq Ahmad Dar besides block presidents Khari and Sumar Mohd Ashraf Naik and Mohd Sutan Mughal, Maneshar Singh Raju and youth Zonal joint secretary Riyaz Ahmed Lone and other local prominent party functionaries.
