Shahidi Divas of Guru Teg Bahadur observed

JAMMU, Dec 16: Shahidi Divas of Guru Teg Bahadur was observed at Gurdwara Yadgar Sant Thakur Bhai Rocha Singh ji, Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar ( Sector 14) here today.
A large number of  Sikh community members thronged Gurdwara since morning to offer special prayers and participate in this grand religious function. Ragi Jatha of  Bhai Rattan Singh and  Bhai Harbans Singh delivered ‘Shabd- Kirtan’ while Bhai Surjeet Singh highlighted the sacrifice of the Guru Teg Bahadur ji.
Various religious and social personalities also paid tributes to great Guru  and addressed the gathering on the occasion.  Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib while paying tributes to the great Guru, appealed the Sikh Sangat to adopt the way of Gugu Teg Bahadur ji  and also stressed upon the youth of the community to be become ‘Amritdhari’ in ‘Reht Mariyada’ of   Sikh religion. A resolution was also unanimously passed on the occasion projecting demands.
The resolution was moved by Surjit Singh Member DGPC and was seconded by  Avtar Singh   Khalsa. The community demanded setting up of Minority Commission in J&K, provide representation to the community  in State Cabinet  and SSB, implement Punjabi language at all levels and provide Punjabi teachers and also declare holiday on the Shaheedi Divas of Guru Teg Bahadur ji.
