POONCH, June 23: Ahead of All Party meeting called by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Jammu and Kashmir, JKPCC general secretary and DDC member from Surankote- A constituency, Shahnawaz Choudhary demanded complete restoration of statehood with constitutional guarantees.
In a press statement here today, Shahnawaz said that bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two UTs and abrogation of special status, was unconstitutional and direct attack on democracy and the Constitution of India. He said Government should undo mistakes by granting full statehood to J&K with constitutional guarantees.
“After restoration of statehood, Government should announce assembly election so that people can elect their representatives in assembly. This is the only way to end the sufferings of people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are suffering since August 5, 2019,” he added.
