JAMMU, May 1: Former minister and JKPCC senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma today alleged that the BJP has no concern with the development of the Jammu and the ruling party considers people of Jammu as a mere voting machine for it.
In a statement, Sham Lal Sharma said that people of Jammu were feeling themselves cheated by the BJP, which had made numerous promises to them failed miserably to fulfill the same after coming to power.
“No development work is presently undergoing in the Jammu and the fact that the development works undertaken by the previous Government have come to stand still. Jammu region is being discriminated and ministers of BJP have no courage to raise the issues of Jammu people in the Government, “he alleged.
Sharma also accused BJP of adopting double standards on vital issues, including Article 370, which was kept at back burner while framing Agenda of Alliance for governing the State and thus compromising decades long ideology of the party.
Sham Lal Sharma further said that the prevailing law and order situation in the State has turned from bad to worst and become out of control of the PDP- BJP Government because of opposite view point of the alliance partners. “Both the parties have lust for power and they don’t want to give up the power because of their personal gains,” he said and further alleged that there was no Government visible in the State.
Terming the ruling alliance as collision instead of coalition, Sharma said that the BJP-PDP have opposite view points against each other and sharp difference on the Kashmir issue. “On Kashmir issue, the PDP insists on talking to all stakeholders including separatist, which is also mentioned in the Agenda of Alliance between two parties, whereas the BJP doesn’t favour for such talks with separatists and these sharp differences adding confusion over Kashmir,” he explained.
