JAMMU, Dec 5: Intensifying his electioneering in Akhnoor, Sham Sharma, Congress candidate and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, launched his frontal attack on all those who talk about Kashmiri grievances but observe criminal silence on last 67 years of injustice and discrimination with Jammu region.
Addressing huge election meeting at Maira and Muthi, he stated that mindset of ruling elites old or new have to change by the people of Jammu with massive mandate in favour of such political forces, which stand for their better future. Since Congress has categorically pledged to provide Regional Development Councils for equitable development and reservation for IB residents, package to Chhamb DPs/POJK refugees, Jammu must vote them to emerge as sole guardian of their interests, he added.
He exhorted Akhnoor people to vote him as their representative third time on the basis of his 12 year’s performance, Mr Sharma claimed all round development in the constituency in every sector. He sought vote of people for materializing his vision for Model Akhnoor Constituency in next six years.
Highlighting his achievements, Sham Lal said that because of his efforts, new administrative units were sanctioned for Chowki Choura, Mandrian, Jourian, Devipur, Bhalwal Brahmana, Kathar, Maira Mandrian, Rah Salyote, Ghar Majoor etc while all season connectivity was also provided in these areas during his tenure as MLA.
Amidst slogans, Sham Lal Sharma assured people of his continuous selfless services and said, “you give me your vote, I will give you Model Akhnoor. One of the beautiful Constituencies in the State, Crime free, developed enjoying all civic amenities.” Replying to some educated youths about their concern for Jammu, Mr Sharma said he has focused the Jammu agenda and their priorities for which people, particular Jammu youths, intellects and social organizations must join hands to fight for their justice. He also cautioned youth to remain vigilant as parties such as BJP publicly bargained Jammu interests to search their future in Kashmir Valley by softening its stand on Article 370, AFSPA etc.
Sham Lal expressed confidence that Akhnoor voters would re-elect him for the State Assembly as their Sewadar for pursuing agenda of prosperous Jammu and struggle with full might.
