JAMMU, Apr 21: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today said that there will be no scarcity of drinking water to the people during summer season.
This was stated by the Minister during review meeting held here today in which he directed the officers to ensure that water pumps in Jammu remain properly functional, besides keeping a provision of surplus motors at the pumping stations so that people get regular water supply during the summer season.
He further directed the officers to maintain inventory of the water pumps, motors and other machinery of the department lying defunct in the workshops. He asked them to get the damaged machinery repaired at the earliest and keep surplus machinery on stand-by at PHE stations, wherever needed.
The Minister asked the officers to set-up Control Rooms at division level so that the complaints of the common masses can be quickly addressed.
