JAMMU: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary today laid the foundation stone of Common Facility Centre (CFC) near Gurudwara at Parlah in Suchetgarh.
The CFC to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh, under Border Area Development programme (BADP) at Cluster Model village Sai Kalan, would benefit a large number of people of Parlah, Sai Kalan, Biaspur, Pindi Sarochan and other adjoining areas.
The Minister directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) to ensure that the quality of the work is maintained and the construction work is completed in a stipulated time frame.
The Minister also paid obeisance at the Gurudwara, Parlah on the occasion of 350th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru, Gobind Singh Ji and prayed for peace and harmony in the State.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said the government has taken various path-breaking initiatives to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State and special stress is being laid on the development of border areas.
Meanwhile, the people hailing from various adjoining villages apprised the Minister about their grievances related to power supply, water supply, road connectivity, telecom, sanitation, education and healthcare. After listening to their problems, the Minister assured them that they will not face any of these problems after the completion of the model village programme.
The Minister informed that PM Narendra Modi led government at the Centre is taking one step after the other for the benefit of common masses and urged the villagers to take optimum benefit of these various state and centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
