JAMMU, June 17: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today convened a public grievances redressal camp to listen to the demands and grievances of the people living in the border areas of Suchetgarh.
The villagers hailing from Samka, Kalali Tibba, Gujjar Basti, Dablehar, Jora Farm, Suchetgarh, Choga, Rangpur, Dewan Garh Old, Agra Chak, Baje Chak, Kushagpur, Bega, Chibaan De Kothe, Dera, Mokhen, Fatehpur, Gharana, Chanduchak and other adjoining villages projected their demands related to power supply, water supply, road connectivity, healthcare, education, sanitation, telecom etc.
They sought immediate replacement of old electricity cables with new ones and installation of electric poles in the villages for streamlining power supply during summer season.
After listening to their demands, the Minister assured them that all their demands would be redressed in a time-bound manner and further asked for cooperation of the people in preservation of public assets.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Government has taken various path-breaking steps for the upliftment of poor, women, youth, farmers, border people and downtrodden sections of the society. He asked the people to take maximum benefit of state and centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
