Sham demands relief, rehab of border people

JAMMU, Jan 8: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma has demanded immediate relief and rehabilitation of the border migrants.
Speaking in Block Congress Committee meeting at Akhnoor today, Mr Sharma extended gratitude to the people for their support and pledged to serve them with more dedication who elected him twice as their MLA. He also exhorted his partymen to rededicate themselves to serve all sections of society with more zeal and devotion.
Expressing serious concern over the situation along border due to Pakistani firing, the Congress leader asked the Central Government and the State Administration to provide immediate relief and ensure rehabilitation of the border migrants in Jammu region. He said that people were facing lot of hardships in view of cold conditions.
While demanding stable Government in the State, Mr Sharma asked those political parties whom popular mandate has been given to form new Government to avoid political vacuum in the sensitive border State and come forward. He said PDP, BJP if enjoy the mandate should not be reluctant but perform their democratic duties as all development works have been stalled and uncertainty is prevailing in the State. He said both the major parties can not shirk their responsibilities otherwise, people are not going to spare them next time.
Senior party leaders Master Kuldip Verma (vice chairman OBC Advisory Board), Shashi Sharma, Shamsher Singh Chib and Baldev Sharma were also present on the occasion.
