JAMMU, Apr 22: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today inspected the Central Pumping Station and Filtration Plant at Boria and instructed the concerned to ensure proper upkeep and sanitation of plant. He directed for undertaking plantation drive around the plant for keeping the environment neat and clean near the water installation.
While inspecting the Water Testing Lab established at the plant, the Minister directed for fully equipping it to ensure supply of safe drinking water to the people. He asked for maintaining proper record of each test conducted.
Meanwhile, the Minister also paid surprise visit to Procurement Division, Jammu and took stock of its functioning. He directed the concerned Executive Engineer to maintain upto date inventory of store articles.
Interacting with the officials, the Minister stressed the need for better work culture and punctuality in the offices. He asked them to work with zeal and dedication and ensure transparency and accountability in the functioning.
Chief Engineers, PHE, Mechanical also accompanied the Minister.
