Sham for effective monitoring of dev projects

JAMMU, July 30: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture,  Sham Lal Sharma today emphasized the need of an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure accountability and transparency in the  implementation of developmental projects in the state.
This was stated by the Minister during his inspection of the construction sites of upcoming Rs.23 crore Government Ayurvedic Medical College-cum-Hospital, Rs.10 crore School and Hostel for general nursing and MD wifery School, Rs.33.36 crore, 100 bedded Hospital under NRHM and Rs.13 crore Mini Secretariat Complex at Akhnoor, here today.
He instructed the concerned authority to complete both the structures of Ayurvedic Medical College and government nursing within stipulated time frame.
The Minister informed that the Mini Secretariat is being established  with an estimated cost of Rs.13 crore and the executive agency i.e. PWD would start work on boundry wall and other related works soon. The offices of SDM and other sub divisional offices will be housed in the upcoming Mini-Secretariat complex.
The Minister also visited the proposed site for upcoming 100 beded hospital at Akhnoor. He  asked the executive agency Housing Board to expedite the construction work and complete the project in the specified time frame.
Mr. Sham said  that present Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State. He appealed the people to cooperate with the executive agencies for smooth and timely construction of all the ongoing prestigious projects being executed under various schemes in their respective areas.
Later, the Minister reviewed the essential services being provided to the public and instructed the officers to ensure adequate basic facilities to the people as the Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of border and remote areas of the state.
