Sham inspects site for Trauma Center at Jajjar Kotli

UDHAMPUR, June 19: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today visited some areas of Jammu and Udhampur districts and inspected the pace on the upcoming health infrastructure and functioning of health institutions.
Accompanied by a high level team of officers of Health Department and District Administration, the Minister inspected the proposed site for the construction of Trauma Center cum Emergency Hospital at Jajjar Kotli. He interacted with the locals and said that the Health Department has earmarked Rs. 20 lakh for the acquisition of land for the proposed hospital.
At village Garhi of Udhampur district, the Minister inspected the ongoing work on the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and directed the executing agency to expedite work to ensure time bound completion without any compromise on the quality of material. He also asked the Block Medical Officer Tikri to ensure the demarcation of land of the PHC within ten days so that boundary wall could be constructed around the institution. He also assured to pay pending payment of land to the land owners.
Mr. Sham Lal also took-stock of the facilities being provided to the patients at District Hospital Udhampur and inspected the blood bank, laboratories and CT scan and diagnostic system in the hospital. He went around each section of the hospital and directed the doctors to provide best medicare to the patients. He also stressed for maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings in the hospital premises. He also interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them.
Inspecting hundred bedded Community Health Center at Chenani, which is at final stage of completion, the Minister asked the executing agency to speed up the work and ensure its completion by July 15, 2012.
Among others, MLA Chenani, Krishan Chander Bhagat, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, P.K Pole, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ashkor Wani, Additional District Development Commissioner, R. R Sharma, Superintendent Engineer PWD, D. D Gorkha, Controller Drug and Food Organization, Satish Gupta, Director Floriculture, K.K Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, Dr Anil Amla and other officers also accompanied the Minister at different locations.
