JAMMU, Mar 26: Duggar Manch in collaboration with VOW Club here today released two Dogri novels by Dr. Surita Sharma.
The chief guest on this occasion was former Minister and senior BJP leader, Sham Lal Sharma while Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (retired) was special guest and guest of honour was Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, Incharge Nanaji Deshmukh Library and Documentation Department.
Padmashri Mohan Singh, president Duggar Manch and Balwinder Singh Pawar, president VOW Club were also present.
Dr. Surita Sharma has written novels ‘Moh-Maya-Jaal’ for youngsters and ‘Pada-Karo’ for children.
She is the first lady Dogri novelist to write children novel.
Prominent Dogri writer Shiv Dev Susheel has written the preface for Moh-Maya-Jaal whereas Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra has written preface for children novel Pada-Karo.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed on awareness and unity among Dogras for the upliftment of Dogri Language.
He advocated for the inclusion of Dogri language as a compulsory subject in the government as well as private institutions of Jammu region from elementary level.
The programme was conducted by Prof. Shalini Rana, secretary Duggar Manch.
