JAMMU, Apr 8: Former Minister and BJP leader, Sham Lal Sharma today expressed his deep anger over the statement of former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah for stating that in case the Art 370 is abrogated, there will be no one in the Kashmir Valley to raise the National Flag.
Sham, while addressing a meeting at Poonch today said that such statement made by the leaders is against the unity and the integrity of the country.
While addressing public meeting, Sham said that all the people in the Valley are not anti national like these leaders. He said that they should not think that they are the sole leaders of the masses and therefore they have no right to speak for them by making such anti national statements.
He further said that while in power these people swear by nationalism but when they are out of power they give such statements in desperation. They have no love or loyalty towards their voters but have lust for power, he added.
Sham reminded these leaders that during 1953 Sheikh Abdullah made similar anti national statements for which he was imprisoned for 22 years. After realising that no fruitful purpose will be served by waging a war against the country, he came to the terms and joined the mainstream and was made Chief Minister of the State and took oath under Constitution of India.
By making such statement the real face of communal approach of National Conference has come in open”, he said.
Sham appealed the Government that those leaders who make anti national statements every now and then, should be booked under the sedition law so that they will desist for giving anti national statements.
Sham threw challenge to NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah, who had stated that if the Article 370 is abrogated, Kashmir’s relation with India will end. Snubbing Dr Farooq Sham said Kashmir doesn’t belong to Abdullahs and that there was no provision for secession of any territory from India.
He further said that those leaders who make anti national statements should be barred from contesting both Parliament and Assembly elections. Those who spoke on the occasion include Pardeep Sharma, MLC, Sunil Gupta secretary State BJP and other prominent leaders.
