Sham lays foundation of 100 bedded Sub District Hospital at Akhnoor

JAMMU, Aut 8: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr Sham Lal Sharma, has said that the government is making all out efforts to make available better infrastructural facilities in all the health institutions across the State.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering after laying foundation stone of 100 bedded Sub-District Hospital at Akhnoor to be constructed at an estimated cost Rs.3336 lakh.
This modern type 4 storied Sub District Hospital will be constructed over an area of 7994 SQM (include- ramp, stairs paramedical staff and substation etc) by the J&K Housing Board under NRHM and would benefit people of several border villages of Tehsil Akhnoor. The project is expected to be completed within next 2 years.
OBC, Vice Chairman, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Director Health Service, Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar, Control Drugs, Satish Gupta, Director Horticulture, J S Sharma, Director Floriculture, K K Sharma, MD J&K Housing Board, Krian Wattal, SDM Akhnoor and other senior officers besides Viklong Chhatra Trust President, Satya Pal Saraf were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sham said that the government after taking over the reign of the state focused on the infrastructural development of two core sectors health and education. The proposed 100 bedded Sub-District Hospital at Akhnoor is also part of the ongoing process, he added.
The Minister said the Central Government headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is providing liberal funding to the State for further improvement in health institutions and other vital services.
Describing health and education as the core sectors, he said the government was making all out efforts to improve deliverance of these vital services in all the three regions of the state. He laid stress on improving the work culture in the health institutions and directed for taking appropriate measures in this direction.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuldeep Raj Verma said present government headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah committed is to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State. He appealed the people to cooperate with the executive agencies for timely completion of upcoming prestigious projects being executed under various schemes.
