JAMMU, Sept 24: Senior BJP leader and party candidate for Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma today stated that National Conference (NC) is fully responsible for its dictatorial policies towards Jammu region.
Addressing a public rally, here today, Sham Lal said, “NC ruled Jammu Kashmir for a maximum period after the Maharaja’s regime and it completely undermined the honor, culture and heritage of this region from day one it took over the reins of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He said that due to the autocratic attitude and rule of this party, the entire Jammu region suffered badly on all fronts. The party deliberately kept Jammu underdeveloped, did not give its dues and instead focused on Kashmir region only, with the result, the people of Jammu region being compelled to live in miserable conditions.
“During the long period of rule of this party, no political outfit could flourish to pursue the cause of Jammu as they dominated the entire political system in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Sham said, “Now, this selfish party is again trying to regain power by making false promises and hollow slogans like bringing back Article 370, Constitution of J&K and its Flag, releasing all criminals, militants detained under various anti-national laws and providing them handsome compensation and many more. But, the people are wise enough now, they know their character and design and will give them a befitting reply in the elections. Due to higher percentage of polls in the first phase, the leaders of NC have freighted and smelling a bitter defeat in the elections.”
He cautioned the people to be careful from the mischievous design of this deceitful party and appealed for vote and support for BJP to form the next Government for a secured, peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“This is the golden opportunity for the people to decide the future of coming generations and to make Jammu Kashmir a hub of tourism, hospitality and cultural activities. This is possible only with the power of votes of people, which they must exercise on poll days,” he asserted.
