Sham warns Geelani to desist from interfering in others’ religious affairs

JAMMU, May 8:  Warning Hurriyat leader Sayed Ali Shah Geelani not to interfere in others religious affairs, former Minister and PCC senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma today launched frontal attack on Mufti led Government in the State alleging that it was working on the dictates from the Hurriyat camp.
Addressing huge gathering of  Akhnoor Block Congress Committee and prominent citizens Sham Lal declared that there is no Government functioning at any level and it has virtually collapsed which multiplied the sufferings of the people, causing frustration among them. He said Jammu people are being denied even the basic civic amenities such as regular power, drinking water and ration and old age pension.
He alleged that BJP whom Jammu people gave their mandate has  literally functioning as PDP ‘s Sub Office than representing their masses who voted them. He reiterated not only on major issues like AIIMS at Jammu, BJP local leadership bargained with their senior partner to deprive Jammu their long dues but allegedly indulges into corruption and nepotism to get undue personal favors, which being exposed by media regularly.
Mr Sharma shared the serious concern of Akhnoor people who too, are suffering due to non- availability of regular power and drinking water supplies. There is no ration at PDS outlets. He said the Government exists only on papers. The Congress leader warned the concerned authorities to ensure that popular grievances should be attended on priority, to avoid any agitation.
While taking serious note of the remarks of  Syed Ali Shah Geelani and his Coteries’ outbursts on Shri Amarnath Yatra duration, Mr Sharma warned  them to keep away from undue and uncalled interference in others’ religious affairs as in India and in secular J&K state, each one has the right to profess and preach his/ her faith without any fear. He accused BJP which despite in power preferred silence over the issue.
Demanding adequate security for Shri Amarnath yatris, the PCC leader hoped that BJP-PDP will ensure its peaceful conduct.
