Shamima Firdous calls on CM

SRINAGAR, Sept 19: Chairperson of State Women’s Commission, Shamima Firdous today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and discussed various matters relating to the welfare of women and their empowerment.
She also apprised the Chief Minister about the development needs in Habba-kadal which is represented by her in the Legislative Assembly.
Shamima Firdous highlighted the issue of compensation to the shopkeepers who are being dislocated due to the widening of roads and creation of other public infrastructure. She emphasized on providing enhanced compensation to the affected shopkeepers who lose means of livelihood by getting dislocated. She also requested the Chief Minister for directing the concerned agency to fast track the payment of compensation to the shopkeepers.
