JAMMU, Mar 20: Condemning yesterday’s incident about derogatory behaviour of MLA, Jugal Kishore, who is also the State President of BJP against Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo in the Legislative Assembly, MLA Habakadal Constituency Shamima Firdous today said that in the capacity as Chairperson of J&K Women Commission, she will write a letter to the senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj for taking stern action against the guilty member.
Speaking to the media persons in the lawns of Legislative Assembly, Shamima Firdous said that the incident is very condemnable which has no parallel in any civil society. She said on one side there is hue and cry in the country and the world to empower the women folk and safe guard their rights, while it was most deplorable that an elected public representative misbehaved in most indecent manner with a senior lady Minister of the State, on the floor of the House which is considered the most sacred democratic institution.
She said this ugly incident should be condemned by one and all irrespective of party affiliations and other political considerations. She also appealed to all women rights groups to take cognizance of this incident to check such happenings in any part of the country in future.
Shamima Firdous said that she will also write to Governor of the State about the incident.
