JAMMU, July 14: Shankaracharya of Puri Peeth, Adhokshanad Ji today stressed that the track of holy Amarnath cave from both Baltal and Chandanwari sides be widened and made good for the pilgrims.
Shankaracharaya Ji, who was on pilgrimage of holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, told reporters after his return from Shrine here, this evening.
He said that by making track good the yatris problems will be eased to a great extent. He made an appeal to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) in this regard.
In view of recent cloudburst at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand which he attributed to undue interference of man with nature, Shankaracharya Ji said that there should be total ban on plying of helicopter services to holy cave of Swami Amarnath Ji as this creates an ecological disturbance.
He also demanded that the Supreme Court orders regarding the yatra be implemented in letter and spirit for smooth and hassle free pilgrimage.
