Sharda Colony residents’ concern over abandoning of work on road

JAMMU, Oct 7: The inhabitants of Sharda Colony and Saraswati Vihar , Patoli Brahmana have expressed concern over abandoning of work on the link road of the colony with the result the people of the area are facing many hardships.
A delegation of the residents of the area led by president Sharda Colony Sector IInd Nana Ji Raina, Dr Ramesh Bhat, A K Dhar and others that visited Excelsior criticized the concerned agency for abandoning the work over six months back which has put the people to problems.
They said that no vehicle is able to ply via the road and the road has become a death trap and there is often apprehension of accidents.
The residents also demanded widening of road near culvert so that the drainage water of the nullah flowing along the road can’t damage it future.
The residents alleged that after initial work on nullah the concerned department abandoned the construction despite the repeated pleas to the authorities. The residents have sought the immediate intervention of Minister of Forests and Social Welfare Bali Bhagat who is also the MLA of the Constituency asking him to issue directives to the concerned department to resume the work at an earliest.
They warned to resort to agitation in case the work was not resumed within week’s time.
