Sharda Colony, Sarswati Vihar residents protest against power curtailment

JAMMU, July 21: The residents of Sharda Colony and Sarswati Vihar today lodged a strong protest against the power failure in the area.
The inhabitants of the area while shouting slogans against the PDD authorities said they have been facing total black out for hours tighter in this hot and humid Summer. They said that the power supply remained off for hours tighter during the day today while in the evening again there was a huge curtailment of long duration.
They said while the people pay thousands of rupees as power tariff every month but the Department has failed to maintain the regular power supply which has generated a lot of resentment against the Department.
The protestors also took the Government as well as concerned Ministry to task for its failure in supplying regular power supply. They said the people in Jammu have to face the long power curtailments when they pay power tariff regularly while there is no such problem in Kashmir.
Addressing the protestors Ramesh Kumar and Nana Ji Raina ex Sarpanch and president Sharda Colony Sector 2 warned to resort to road blockade in case the problem continues as people especially old and infirm can’t resist such a long duration power cuts in this hot and humid season.
