JAMMU, Jan 6: A day after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave yet another controversial statement on Burhan Wani and his rhetoric on Kashmir, State unit of BJP lashed out at him, contending Sharif’s assertions are a result of sheer frustration and desperation due to poor response emanating from the people of Kashmir, now wishing to lead peaceful and normal life.
Reacting sharply to the claim of Sharif that the slain Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was a “vibrant and charismatic leader”, State unit of BJP has said that the cat has now come out of the bag as it is crystal clear that Pakistan has always supported terrorism and their activities in Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere in India. As for his claim that Kashmir was an “integral part” of Pakistan, the BJP said that the Pakistan Prime Minister is day dreaming and needs to be reminded that Kashmir belongs to India and no power on earth can snatch even an inch of it till last Indian survives.
Putting forth party’s stand on both the issues, BJP State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that the party has been continuously telling the world community that Pakistan was a breeding ground of terrorism, it exported trained terrorists into Indian territory and has been responsible for terrorist activities in Kashmir during all these years of its proxy war against India. Now, when Nawaz Sharif has openly praised a dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani and described him as a vibrant and charismatic leader, doubts, if in any quarter and corner of the world, have been cleared by him, Balbir said adding that Pakistan stands fully exposed for its well laid out policy for promoting terrorism and fanning it out particularly in J&K State.
Balbir said that whatever has been claimed by Nawaz Sharif about Kashmir is absolutely wrong and malicious. BJP wants to remind both Sharif and the entire world community that the 1994 unanimous resolution of Parliament of India makes it loud and clear that “the State of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India and any attempts to separate it from the rest of the country will be resisted by all necessary means and demands that Pakistan must vacate the areas of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, which they have occupied through aggression”.
Balbir further said that Nawaz’s remarks on sufferings of people of Kashmir are nothing but crocodile tears as even the Kashmiris now realize their miseries have been compounded due to Pakistan’s policy of exporting terrorism in J&K, which has become main cause of continuous violence and instability in the State.
