JAMMU, July 18: The Jayanti of Goddess Sharika was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across J&K today by devotees of Mata.
In this connection a grand function was organised by the Shri Shri Jagat Amba Sharika Peeth Chkkreswar Sanstha at the holy Shrine Sharika Peeth at Sringar today under the supervision of Sanstha president, Ranjit Gurkha. The devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir visited the shrine to participate in Pooja archana and pay their obeisance to Godess Sharika which is the presiding deity of Kashmiri Hindus. They applied Sindoor to the holy stone on which Shri yantra is engraved.
The entire shrine was fully decorated by a team of volunteers and members of the Sanstha who in addition to Ranjit Gurkha included, Rahul Kaul, Ashok Kaul and the other members of the Sanstha. The COVID SOPs were observed by the devotees fully who were served prashad after culmination of the religious function.
The Sanstha had made all arrangements of boarding and lodging for devotees at the holy shrine.
Another function was held at Paloura Dhok, Jammu shrine of Mata which is the replica of original shrine. Besides day long pooja archana the devotees were served with prashad by the Sanstha. A Samohik prayer was held invoking the blessings of Mata to rid the mankind of the dreaded Pandemic and for universal peace.
In connection with birthday of Mata Sharika a function was held at Sharika Peeth Subash Nagar today. The devotees performed pooja archana of goddess with great devotion which was followed by serving of prashad.
The function was held under the supervision of president of the Sanstha, MK Jalali. The devotees prayed for peace and prosperity of mankind.
