JAMMU, Sept 16: Senior Congress leader, former Minister and general secretary, PCC, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, today strongly criticized the anti-employees policies of the BJP-PDP Government in the State.
“The approach of present State Government seems to be anti-employees and anti-youth in every sphere in general and in case of daily wagers/casual labours, ITI workers and CP workers in particular”, Sharma said adding that the Government has failed to provide monthly remuneration/wages to these workers since it came to power.
Dr Sharma said thousands of daily wagers/casual labours, CP and ITI workers are working tirelessly in the PHE Department particularly and in general other departments like PDD, PWD, Forest, Tourism, Fisheries’ and Rural Department for more than ten years on nominal remunerations which they get off and on due to the lack of funds in concerned department.
“Despite facing acute financial hardships these workers are working hard to provide basic facilities to the citizens of the State on ground level but the attitude of Government towards their genuine demands is totally inhuman and unbearable” the former Minister said and added that the Government instead of recognizing their contributions towards the society trying to harass and discourage them by issuing anti-daily wagers statements.
Extending his whole hearted support to the genuine demands of the PHE daily wagers who are striving hard and sitting on dharna in PHE Chief Engineers office Jammu, Dr Sharma asked the Government to regularize all daily wagers/casual labours, CP workers and ITI workers who have complete seven years of their service in department as recommended by Cabinet Sub-committee in the year 2014-15.
Dr Sharma also demanded the release of their pending salaries without any further delay.
