JAMMU, Apr 3: All PoJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectuals Forum in a meeting of its Core Committee chaired by Advocate Amrik Singh its president welcomed the Union Home Ministry decision in amending the J&K Immovable Property Act.
The meeting among others was also addressed by general secretary of the Forum, Surjit Singh.
The Forum, while expressing its great concern over ignoring the displaced persons of 1947 who also fall in same category of Kashmir migrants but their allotted land at Jammu province under SRO 254/C and 578/C has not been vacated by unauthorised tenants/cultivators. Now as the Union Government through MHA order on domicile law amended some of it’s clauses of earlier laws of Immovable Property Act 1997, Sub Section 2 of Section 6 of earlier act passed by J&K Legislature which empowered the competent authorities to initiate Suo Moto action on the basis of complaints the Forum urged upon the MHA to kindly include the 1947 migrants on the pattern of Kashmiri migrants and a separate notification may be issued in this regard.
The Forum expressed the hope that Union Home Ministry will consider the plea as being the genuine demand of the displaced people from PoK.
