Shastri demands merging of 50% DA of employees in basic pay

JAMMU, July 15: President, National Mazdoor Conference, Subhash Shastri, has demanded the merger of 50% Dearness Allowance (DA) of State Government employees and pensioners into their basic pay or pension without any delay as was recommended by Fourth Pay Commission.
“DA of pensioners and employees has gone up to 65%, as it exceeded more than 50% after the release of DA from January 1, 2011, hence the 50% DA should be merged with basic pay or pension and the remaining 15% should be paid in accordance with the merged basic salary or pension of employees and pensioners, said Shastri addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Brahman Sabha.
Stressing for formulating a National Pay Policy throughout the country, Shastri demanded for setting up of a new Pay Commission, which should cover both Central and State Government employees and pensioners.
Moreover, the NMC president also highlighted some other demands including release of wages of motivators working in IWDP, timely release of wages of daily wagers working in various State Government Departments besides enhancement in their daily wages from Rs 125 to Rs 300 per day, release of six years of wages of Trikuta Hills Project of Social Forestory Department, pensionary benefits to public sector workers, removal of anomalies of SRO-93 particularly clerical staff, regularization of daily wagers and casual labourers working in various Government Departments, declaration of Jammu and Srinagar cities as B-1 cities, etc.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Rakesh Padha, Bhopinder Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma and many others also spoke on the occasion.
