JAMMU, Apr 12: Expressing concern over inordinate delay in release of 10% DA due from January last and 4th installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears in favour of State Government employees and pensioners, president, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subhash Shastri, today demanded release of the same before May Day.
Addressing a largely attended NMC activists’ rally at Marh, Shastri demanded the Government to pay DA arrears in cash, adding there should be no hitch in releasing the DA arrears during the election code of conduct, as DA is a part of the salary and pension.
Shastri also pressed the Government to release 4th installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, alleging that the funds for the same has already been earmarked in the current State Budget of the State. The delay in release of these incentives would not only put financial burden on the State Government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of State Government employees and pensioners, he added.
The other demands highlighted by Shastri include enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, early amendment in SRO 64, removal of all pay anomalies in SRO 93 particularly clerical staff, regularization of services of all daily wagers working in various departments of State Government, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in RDD, merger of 50% DA into basic pay and pension and enhancement of wages of daily wagers to Rs 10, 000 per month.
