JAMMU, May 30: Emphasizing the need of immediate amendment of SRO 64, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the Chief Minister to formulate a comprehensive policy for regularization of daily rated workers, casual or seasonal laborers and contractual as well as adhoc employees engaged in various departments of State government after March 31 , 1994.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Shastri said that Government should take a decision in this regard before the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct for local bodies elections which are likely to be held in September or October this year.
He said the regularization of daily rated and other workers will be an important issue in these elections.
Maintaining that early amendment in SRO 64 is the need of the hour as it is linked to the fate of 61,000 daily rated workers working in various State Government and public sector undertakings. He demanded that the amendment in the SRO should be immediately effected so that the new regularization policy becomes operational at the earliest.

While pleading the cause of State Government employee sand pensioners, Shastri demanded early release of six percent DA due from January in favour of State Government employees and pensioners respectively.
Expressing concern over non enforcement of CP Fund deduction in various Government departments, he demanded strict enforcement for scheme and early payment of wages of daily wagers pending for months together.
