Shastri urges 7th CPC to recommend 20% interim relief

JAMMU, Nov 2: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged the Chairman of the 7th Pay Commission recommend that 20% interim relief be given to all Central and State Government employees and pensioners, merger of 50% DA into basic pay/ pension adding that these recommendations in the interim report be submitted to the Central Government.
Shastri said in a letter to 7th Pay Commission Chairman Dr (retired) Justice A K Mathur that along with the State and Central Government employees, the interim relief of 20% of basic pay/ pension be also extended to pensioners too and that these demands be recommended without any further delay, so that confusion and uncertainty among the salaried class could come to an end.
NMC has also demanded for raising the retirement age to 62 and regulations of the services of all daily wagers beside 50% DA merger.
Shastri said that 7th Pay Commission has sought the cooperation of all the federations/ unions as it has to submit a complete report to the Government within 14 months.
The NMC have advised their affiliate unions to hurry with their opinions, demands and their views on the implementation of 7th CPC. Attention is now being channelized to draft suggestions and demands that include all thoughts and views, he added.
