PATNA, Oct 19:
BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today expressed worry over reports that the party could have done better in the first two phases of voting and urged leaders to stop “5-star press meets” and approach issues on the ground.
“Time to stop approaching the issues on the ground like standard, half hearted, 5 star press meets,” the actor-turned-politician tweeted.
“Grassroot BJP workers need and deserve respect and we need to reach out to voters with humility…This is the need at the ground level,” he said in an another message on the micro-blogging site.
“News that my party cud’ve done better in the 1st 2 phases upsets me. Hope it’s untrue. Wishing BJP candidates all the best for the next phase,” the Lok Sabha member from Patna Saheb said.
When asked to comment on Sinha’s tweets, BJP President Amit Shah told reporters in a lighter vein, “if he does not tweet what will you show or write?”
On Sinha’s questioning cancellation of PM’s rallies in Bihar, Shah said there was “no change” in Modi’s electioneering, as no rally was scheduled during festivity for two weeks between the second and third phases. (PTI)
