Shazad demands repair of damaged Balakote school

MENDHAR, July 5: Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, former Vice Chancellor and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference has urged the School Education department to immediately repair the damaged Government Middle School Gola Nari, Sanghiote in Block Balakote of district Poonch.
During his tour of village Sanghiote along with prominent local people, they showed him damaged roof top of government middle school Gola Nari, the tin-roof of the school baldy damaged. Many tin pieces are missing from the roof. The wash rooms are also in very poor condition. It is the only nearby government school in the area and people demanded that it must be repaired before opening of school (culmination of summer vacations) failing which the teachers and students won’t be able to join their classes in rainy season. Dr Shazad has urged the government to take appropriate action in this regard at an earliest.
Dr Shazad was on visit to different areas of border areas of Balakote Block on the invitation of locals, the BADC Chairman also held several meetings with the villagers who apprised him about their day to day problems related to power-water supply, health, road connectivity and School Education department.
They also highlighted certain discrepancies in construction works done by RDD and urged the former VC to highlight these issues. Dr Shazad gave a patient hearing to the villagers and assured to raise their issues at appropriate forum for their redressal.
