JAMMU, Feb 28: One day State level seminar was organized by Sacred Heart College of Education, (SHCE) Paloura Jammu on “Towards Academic Excellence in Higher Education” spread with two sessions.
Prof Desh Bandu Gupta, Director, Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu, was the chief guest in the morning session while as Prof Shallender Singh, HoD Department of History, University of Jammu , Prof Ajeet Angral, Prof G Q Sheikh , Prof Suman Thusoo, were the guest of honors.
Prof Desh Bandu Gupta in his speech viewed that excellence has different parameters in different situations. However some common parameters should be upheld .
Earlier Rajni Bala , chairperson of Sacred Heart College of Education while welcoming the guests assured to hold academic and non academic activities in the college to make it hub of multi dimensional activities.
Dr G Q Sheikh in his key note address viewed that excellence is a high cost item, the price for which is time, attention and focus. Prof Sheikh emphasized that Colleges of Education have to move towards building a shared commitment for paradigm shift in teacher education.
Mula Ram, ex Minister was the chief guest in the valedictory function who gave away the certificates of participation to the speakers of seminar. He exhibited his satisfaction toward management and staff for conducting such seminar of National importance. Hari Singh Chib, MD, Sacred Heart College of Education also spoke on the occasion. Dr K K Tiwari principal of the college presented vote of thanks.
