Government Boys Middle School at Sheeri Payeen area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district is perhaps no one’s concern in the concerned authorities of Education Department. Dearth of funds and lack of facilities including space, electricity , playground and staff shortage are all in one affecting the education of this school.
The School has 83 students in all with enrolment of 10 teachers and one more school Sheeri Banpora with 53 students has been clubbed with this school and this “clubbing” is having a telling effect on space constraints of the Middle School while on the other hand construction of another building was started in the year 2007 but left midway due to lack of funds. There is no electricity in the School nor is it equipped with the latest equipments like projectors, computers and laboratories for the benefit of the students. Can it be believed that individual contributions have resulted in procuring some basic equipments required in this School?
Surrounded by four private Schools doing much better because of infrastructural facilities and there being absolute deficiency to the extent of absence of those facilities in the Government Middle School being the reason behind the dismay of the students and the parents must wake up the authorities from their slumber and address the problems of this school in the interests of the students.
