The Indian Army organised a youth event in Loidhar, where Sheetal’s athleticism shone brightly. Scouts noticed her exceptional talent and introduced her to the world of archery. This was a pivotal moment. With the Army’s support, Sheetal received tailored training and equipment, adapting the archery technique to suit her unique abilities.
Within just two years, her dedication bore fruit. The 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China, became Sheetal’s stage to conquer. Not only did she participate, but she dominated, claiming a historic three gold medals: This incredible feat made her the first armless archer to win gold at the Paralympic Games, etching her name in the annals of sporting history. She became a global icon, inspiring countless individuals with her story of resilience and defying limitations. She continued to excel, bagging a silver medal at the 2023 World Para Archery Championship in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
