Shopian, May, 26: Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department, Jammu and Kashmir, Sheetal Nanda along with Deputy Commissioner Shopian Sachin kumar Vaishya & Mission Director ICPS, Harvinder Kour today visited
and inspected the Integrated Child Protection Home, MSK & One Stop Center (OSC) at Shopian and took stock of the facilities being made available to the inmates in the shelter home .
She also inspected the ongoing developmental works undertaken at Girls Home Shopian and directed for completing the works within the stipulated time frame.She exhorted for expediting work and it’s timely completion.
Sheetal instructed for creating mass awareness among the people regarding various welfare measures being implemented and provided through ICPS.
The construction work is near completion as per the technical specifications of the home.She passed onspot directions for completion so that the home is ready for inauguration and intake of girl children. Secretary was assure She emphasised on providing educational, extra curricular facilities to girl children within the home.
Sheetal directed for taking out Child Protection Services in the district to the next level, which will act as boon for all the children of the district in particular and UT in general.
Sheetal took stock of working of Observation homes and the staff position of these vital units of ICPS.
Earlier, Mission Director welcomed the Commissioner Secretary and other dignitaries.
DCPO, Shopian briefed about work done status in the district, the activities undertaken by them on Child Rights and Child Protection & assure the Commissioer secretary to make the home fully functional by June.
District Programme Officer Nasir Ahmad, District Child Protection Officer, Shopian, Showkat Ahmed, officers and officials of staff of Mission Directorate ICPS/ Women Empowerment, District Child Protection Unit ,Shopian and staff of the Girls Home accompanied the Commissioner Secretary.
