POONCH, Jan 19: Former Member Legislative Council, Dr Shehnaz Ganai met Deputy Commissioner Poonch and submitted memorandum to LG Administration through him, regarding relief to poor people in Government land eviction order.
She along with her many companions discussed the issue with DC Poonch and asked him to communicate their concern over the recent issued Government order of anti- encroachment drive on State, Kacharai and Roshni land, through Revenue Department.
Dr Ganai said that poor people of J&K including Poonch are very stressed after the issuance of this order which effects their lives as they have only small houses, a piece of land to live, which Government is asking to leave.
She said when Central Government runs a scheme to provide houses to all, so that no one in the country left homeless then this contrary action must not be taken which have an effect on poor people.
She urged the LG administration through the memorandum to rethink on this order and give relief to at least poor people who are the major sufferer.
