UDHAMPUR, Oct 28: As an initiative towards the regime of transparency and in commemoration of the vigilance awareness week being organized under the aegis of CVC, SVC, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur organized a symposium on the topic “Preventive vigilance as a tool of Good Governance” in the RV Raju Auditorium.
The symposium was attended by the Assistant Director (Admn), Shiv Kumar Sharma (SSP), Assistant Director (Indoor), Ravinder Kumar Rao (DDP), Assistant Director (Outdoor), RC Kotwal (SP), Chief Law Instructor, Kamal Sharma, CPO, officers of the Academy, staff and the trainees.
The speakers who spoke on the topic were undergoing training in different courses. The profile ranged from Probationary Deputy SP, ASIs and Selection Grade Constables undergoing Induction course, Upper course and lower course, respectively.
Different aspects having their impact on the good governance by observing preventive vigilance were discussed during the symposium. The Right to Guarantee Act, Right to Information Act and role of DVO as well as the self uprightness of the officials and public were the highlights of the discussion.
In the end, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were distributed which were shared by Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, Deputy SP(P), Mohd Rafee Rather, Deputy SP(P), Sharad, Deputy SP(P), Adil Mushtaq, Deputy SP(P), Surinder Mohan, Deputy SP(P), ASI Bashir Ahmed, No 85/PAU, respectively.
The function ended with Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi’s message that “Be the change that you want to be”.
